Third Grade Parents and Students,

I hope you are all doing fantastic and had a great Memorial Day.  We are on the last days of school.  For the next 8 days we will be doing review games during our Zoom meetings.  I will not be assigning new work for your child to do, instead I would like for your child to complete any assignments that he/she has not completed yet.  If your child has been getting packets, please make sure they are being completed.

We will continue having our daily Zoom meetings each day at 1:00 PM.  You will continue using the Zoom link that was emailed to you and that can be found on my class web page.

Thank you,

Mrs. McCoy

Week of 5/18/20-5/22/20

Dear Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed a nice, relaxing weekend!  We are entering Week 9 of remote learning.  Last week, we began having daily Zoom meetings with breakout sessions where we worked in small groups with Ms. Bennington and Ms. Conaway.  I am looking forward to seeing more of you on there next week.  This week our lessons in Zoom will be a mixture of Khan Academy, Brain Pop, and Study Island for ELA Instruction.  Zoom instruction provides an excellent opportunity for helping to keep skills sharp.  I highly recommend attending!

ELA and Math assignments for online learning will be on ReadWorks and ALEKS.  Please refer to the specific assignment pages for daily review and weekly work packets.  All assignments are due by the end of the day on Fridays.

If you need anything at all, please feel free to reach out to me on my phone or email kmccoy@phoenixclc.org.  I want you to know that I am here and we will continue to get through this!  Hang in there!  Have a great week!

Together We Can!

Thank you,

Mrs. McCoy

Week of 5/4/20-5/8/20

Dear Families of 3A,
I really enjoyed hearing from a lot of you this past week. I hope everyone is doing their best to stay safe and well during this difficult time. It’s so important to try to stay on a consistent schedule with your class assignments. Please set aside time for learning to take place. This week we are beginning online Zoom meetings. Meetings will take place Monday-Friday from 1-2 pm. I will provide instruction for ELA and Math lessons on Zoom and daily online assignments will correspond with our live meetings. This will take place for the remainder of the school year. An invitation to join our meetings can be found in your child’s email account. If you need that information, please feel free to let me know. I truly feel that this will benefit your child by attending the meetings, as well as, provide the opportunity to interact with their peers and I in a virtual setting! I am eager to get started with this and “seeing” all of you.
Breakfast and lunch will continue to be served throughout the week from 9:00-12 noon. Work packets are distributed on Fridays at the same time. This includes work for the following week. These Zoom classes and paper packets are designed to help students stay on target with Ohio ELA standards. There is always an option to complete online assignments if you do not have transportation to get the packets.
As always, I am available to help you with anything you may need to help your child continue to be successful. You can reach me on my cell phone or email: kmccoy@phoenixclc.org.
Together We Can!
Take Care,
Mrs. McCoy

Week of 4/27/20-5/1/20

Dear Third Grade-3A Parents and Students,
I hope this week finds you safe and healthy. It’s hard to believe this is the sixth week of remote learning. Although we are apart, I am thinking about all of you daily and hoping you are doing well. I care about each of you. I miss the time we spent together! With Governor DeWine’s decision last week, it looks as though we will continue learning remotely for the remainder of the school year. It is important to try and stay on a schedule and follow a good routine daily. It is so important to stay active with learning. It will keep preparing you for next school year.
You have the opportunity to complete the hard copy paper packets or do the online assignments. Just a reminder, breakfast and lunch are provided Monday-Friday from 9:00 am-12:00 noon. Paper packets may be picked up Fridays from 9:00-12 noon, as well. This week your ELA online assignments will be on ReadWorks, Headsprout, and Study Island and Math online assignments will be on ALEKS and Study Island.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask. The best way to contact me is email kmccoy@phoenixclc.org or my cell phone. I am here to help you. Together We Can !
